Description

What turbulent injustice creates the imperative to tell truth to power?  And what ensues when that confrontation comes from the unlikeliest of sources?   This playwright of the Spanish Golden Age gave us a 1614 classic whose message has retained its urgency and relevance to our contemporary reality.  He mantra,  “Fuente Ovejuna lo hizo” (“Fuente Ovejuna did it”) has become a clarion call for revolution against human rights abuse in many parts of the world. This rarely staged play will be co-produced with the Department of Theatre of DuocUC Chile, with Chilean acting students joining the company. Plans call for performances which integrate both Spanish and English with surtitles.
